The Region of Crete, having been fully satisfied after the implementation of the first project concerning the development of the Spatial Data Infrastructure of the Region of Crete, proceeded to a new project for the maintenance and expansion of the SDI by GET.

As part of the new project, GET has developed the vertical application for Monitoring Infrastructure and Over time Development, which enables the Technical Service Sector to monitor the progress of infrastructure projects with the appropriate cartographic background.

The implemented solution is based on Free Open-Source Software (FOSS) and was configured according to the needs of the Municipalities of the Region. Through this application:

• It is possible to geolocate and digitize the project, with multiple design possibilities, over a modern cartographic background.
• For each project detailed descriptive and spatial information are provided which relate to the code of the project, to its title, to its budget, to the implementing body, to the superior authority, to the managing service, to the financing, to its contract phase, to the date of signing the contract, to the categories of the project (Green, Road Construction etc. ), to the location map of the project on a modern cartographic background, as well as to the geometry of the project.
• Having all the above information, the employees of the Service have the possibility of multi-criteria search of works and its display, both based on descriptive and spatial parameters (eg search and display of works that have been contracted within 2021 per municipal unit).

The aim of this application is the collection and central management of information regarding the monitoring and development of infrastructure projects over time, which leads to a common updated operational picture.
