GET successfully completed another project in the field of Local Government and more specifically for the Municipality of Chalandri, which being our long-term customer, has acquired an integrated geoinformation infrastructure based on open-source technology.

The infrastructure hosts a large number of geospatial data and serves the functions of the Municipality at the operational level. Given the positive response of internal users (executives of the Municipality), the proven time savings in the documentation of the existing urban planning, but also of external users (eg Building services, engineers who demonstrate the operation on site visits, citizens) the Municipality of Chalandri systematically invests in the expansion of the operational possibilities of the system.

In the scope of this project, given the maturity of the system and the transfer of know-how to the internal users of the system, the application of the Municipality Property Register was developed, which is based on Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS)

The vertical application of Property Register is a horizontal infrastructure and an important tool for the documentation of all the properties of the Municipality and for their sustainable management, useful to all the Services of the Municipality.

Initially all the properties of the Municipality were geocoded and afterwards a Digital Property File was created, unique for each property. Each file includes the files related to the property in the form of items, which may relate to the Land Registry and Declarations E9, Building Permits – Settlements Plans, Photos, Fire Protection Studies, Pre-Earthquake Report, without being limited to them. In this way, all information concerning a specific property of the Municipality is collected and documented in an information hub, while it is edited and updated immediately and centrally.

This application is the basis for the management of the revenues of the Municipality, which come from the exploitation of the property of the Municipality, therefore it aims at the most sustainable management of the property of the Municipality by providing knowledge of the actual situation.
