GET has successfully completed another project in the field of Local Government and more specifically in the Municipality of Chalandri, which has acquired an integrated geo-informational infrastructure based on open-source technology.

In the context of the specific project, and given the maturity of the system, the Municipality of Chalandri decided to invest in expanding the functionality of the existing SDI and in its utilization in matters of Civil Protection and for the management of the Social Structures of the Municipality. Among others, the following works were carried out:

• An application was developed for the central management of the work carried out by the Civil Protection Service of the Municipality, to monitor requests or requirements for the cleaning of plots of land to prevent the risk of fire. The development of the application was based on the provisions and procedures of the most recent Fire Ordinance (Government Gazette 2549B / April 19, 2023).
• The General Secretariat of Social Solidarity and Combating Poverty of the Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs has carried out a mapping of social structures in the wider area of Attica, to which residents of the Municipality of Chalandri could also apply. The structures provide various categories of services (Social and Psychological Support, Housing, etc.). The work concerned the coding, organization and geocoding of the structure elements, the development of a relevant interface and integration of the data in the application of the presentation of the structures.
