GET successfully implemented the maintenance and upgrade of the Spatial Data Infrastructure – GIS of the Municipality of Piraeus, which now systematically invests in the existing SDI, implemented by GET, as it is understood that the operation of the Infrastructure is enhanced by the availability and quality of geospatial data available. Therefore, the aim was to fully update the new infrastructure, through the appropriate transfer and proper modeling of the data of the old GIS and ensuring continuous access to it by internal and external users of the Municipality.

In the context of this project, GET implemented the migration of software to G-Cloud infrastructure, the maintenance and upgrade of existing FOSS software, the migration of data from the old geographical information system of the Municipality, the training of users and the pilot mobile mapping of part of the road network of the Municipality of Piraeus  with a total length of 65.67km through panoramic measuring photos 360ο and their presentation through the existing SDI.
