This year GET will participate in the  International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) which will take place in Athens, between 1 – 3 April 2020 [Conference Web Site].

The conference is coordinated by the United Nations University Operating Unit on Policy-Driven Electronic Governance (UNU-EGOV). ICEGOV has established itself over the years as a major conference in the domain of Electronic Governance (EGOV) due to its unique combination of academics and practitioners. The conference promotes the interaction and cooperation between universities, research centres, governments, industry, and international organisations, all of which are essential to the development of EGOV and its community.

GET will present in the Public Sector Session (Friday 3 April, 11:00-13:00) a project jointly performed by the Laboratory of Atmospheric Physics of the University of Patras and the Municipality of Thermi. The paper is entitled: “ThermiAir: Αn Innovative Air Quality Monitoring System for Airborne Particulate Matter in Thermi, Greece“. It presents the setup and the operation of an IoT air quality network, which, coupled with web and mobile apps will provide real time and statistical information about air pollution to the city stakeholders and the citizens.
