GET begins the implementation of the project “Development of Geographic Information System application” for the Urban Planning Department of Heraklion Municipality. The objective of this project is the creation of a Spatial Data Infrastructure which will contribute to make public geospatial data free and available to professionals and citizens without the restrictions of spiritual or industrial property with the use of open standards following the requirements of the National Law 3882/2010 and the INSPIRE Directive. For the implementation of the project, GET will develop services consisted at least by search, view, download services. This project increases the transparency and accountability of Heraklion Municipality and supports cost decrease thank to more efficient operation of the offered services due to data mobility.
