The Organization Enterprise Greece and ΑΝΙΜΑ Investment Network,under the support of EU4Innovation, co-organized the innovation conference “The Next Society” in Athens on the 16th of May. The conference opened with Christos Staikos, Chairman of Enterprise Greece and Emmanuel Noutary, General Delegate of ANIMA Investment Network. The Minister of Finance and Development, Mr Dimitris Papadimitriou and the Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation Mr Costas Fotakis, continued with the Strategy of Greece for supporting innovation and using in the best way human resources. Moreover, the Regional Governor of Attica, Mrs Rena Dourou, emphasized that local and regional authorities can be developed into effective cells for leveraging innovation. The Vice President of European Parliament and Head of SYRIZA party representative committee, Mr Dimitris Papadimoulis participated via audio message in which he referred at the requirements for better support by the European Union regarding innovation and entrepreneurship issues in E.U. and in Mediterranean area. After that, the representative of European Commision, Mr Vladimir Rojanski, started officially the program The Next Society.
At the conference, in which more there were more than 150 participants, many approaches regarding the common challanges in Mediterranean area were presented. Participants of the conference were organizations from Egypt, Belgium, France, Jordan, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, UK, Palestine, Tunisia and Turkey. All the participants had the chance to communicate, exchange ideas regarding best cases and be prepared for new partnerships.
Mr Gabriel Mavrellis, by GEOSPATIAL ENABLING TECHNOLOGIES and Mr Stephanos Hartomatzides from Prisma Electronics were the two Greek businessmen who presented their companies and their innovative products.
