The Municipality of Papagou-Cholargou is located in the Northern Sector of Athens of the Region of Attica and is made up of the sections of Papagou and Cholargou, the seat of which is the latter. It has an area of 8.63 sq.km. and a population of 45,266 inhabitants, according to the 2021 census.

GET has successfully completed another project in the field of Local Government and more specifically in the Municipality of Papagou – Cholargou, which has acquired an integrated geo-informational infrastructure based on open-source technology.

The project concerned the Preparation of the Operational Plan for Securing the Community and Publicly Beneficial spaces of the Municipality. More specifically, in the context of this project, the operational plan was drawn up within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Papagou – Cholargou, in which the Community and Publicly Beneficial spaces designated by the city plan were recorded. Subsequently, the areas for which the expropriation has not been carried out are prioritized based on criteria regarding the necessity of their acquisition for the wider urban planning of the Municipality, taking into account the time that has passed since the imposition of the systematic expropriation.

The results of the project have been included in the existing Spatial Data Infrastructure – SDI developed by GET for the Municipality of Papagou – Cholargou, which constitutes the central pillar of the implementation, while also feeding the vertical support application of urban Planning – GET e-POLEO – of the Municipality.

THE PROJECT IS FINANCED BY THE GREEN FUND WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF PRIORITY AXIS 2: 2: “URBAN REGENERATION & OTHER ENVIRONMENTAL BALANCE ACTIONS”
