Following the Municipalities of Agia Paraskevi, Chaidari, Chalandri, Chania, Hermoupolis – Syros, Papagou – Cholargos, Piraeus, the Prefecture of Attica and Kythnos Island, also the Municipality of Keratsini – Drapetsona trusted GET to create the geographical referenced basemap along the Municipality’s road network, choosing the solution “GET Data“, offered by GET in our portfolio for the Smart City.
The aim of the project is to capture the current situation to the maximum possible extent, by collecting new imagery for documentation, and to create the required information database by enriching the existing SDI with 3D data, that will form the basis for future reports.
The data collection will be carried out using Trimble’s state-of-the-art MX7 system provided by GET. Trimble MX7 is a modern mobile mapping system that provides large volumes of high-precision data in a very short time.
The material will bear a time and geographical stamp of absolute horizontal accuracy of 30cm (or better) and will be delivered under a license compatible with the definition of open data, allowing unhindered use by the Municipality and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
This solution will collect the layers of data (information) required for a clear understanding of the elements that make up the city. With the aforementioned services it will be possible to virtually navigate the city, inspect and evaluate sites without physical presence. In addition, it will be possible to extracting measurements using the panoramic photos.
Moreover, during the implementation of the project, GET will also provide services for the development of new application services and for the enrichment of the existing SDI with new datasets.
