The association of companies “GET-EOfarm” was awarded the tender conducted by the Hellenic Space Center with subject: “Cloud Computing and Geoinformation System Service”.  This is the 3rd subproject of the Project “Earth Observation Satellite Mission Planning Service”, which was included in the Recovery and Resilience Fund (MIS code TA 5201107).

The contract was signed on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at the offices of the Hellenic Space Center, by the President of HSC Prof. Ioannis Daglis and the representative of the association Gabriel Mavrellis. The object of the contract is the design, implementation and operation of an Integrated Geoinformation System (OGS) with open cutting-edge cloud computing technologies

The general principles that will govern the Integrated Geoinformation System include, open architecture systems as well as implementation with Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS), using open standards, along with the adoption of the Earth Observation Exploitation Platform Common Architecture (EOEPCA) the European Space Agency (ESA).

In the context of the commitment of the Ministry of Digital Governance for the implementation of the National Strategy for Digital Transformation, focusing on improving the effectiveness and quality of services of the wider Public Sector, Hellenic Space Center implements Satellite Earth Observation Mission Planning Services.

The main objective is to meet the needs of systematic mapping and emergency monitoring of areas and phenomena for various applications of Environment and Energy, Civil Protection, cartographic needs of the Greek State, Rural Development and Food, etc., according to the documented needs of the end users of the Wider Public Sector.

The management of geospatial data as well as their distribution to end users will be carried out through the dedicated developed geoinformation system, based on cloud computing technologies.
